Frequently Asked Questions

What are the operating hours?

We are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and by appointment.  We are often here earlier and later as well, but these are the times we definitely have the building open.

How can I become a member?

To become a member, you can visit our center in person, fill out the form on the last page of our newsletter and mail it in, or (hopefully soon) apply online through our Membership page.

What programs and activities are available for children and teenagers?

We often work with the Let Freedom Ring Committee to have some activities for children, but most of our events are geared towards adults.

Is there a fitness center or gym at the community center?

We have a exercise bike, but the main exercise here is provided by our Highland Community College sponsored exercise class which meets every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 am-10:00 am.  To join the class simply stop by the center during those times and we will be happy to give you more information.

How can I reserve a meeting room or event space at the community center?

You can make room reservations online through our Reservation page or by contacting Melissa or Kris at 815-734-6335. Please book in advance to secure your preferred date and time.  Our daily room rates are $50 for either big room, $25 for the kitchen, and $25 for the coffee shop.

Are there volunteer opportunities available at the community center?

Yes, we welcome volunteers! Visit our Volunteer page to learn more about how you can get involved and make a positive impact on our community.

Do you offer senior citizen programs and activities?

Absolutely, we have a variety of programs tailored for seniors, including social events, fitness classes, and educational workshops. Check our Senior Programs section for more information.

What is the policy for cancellations and refunds for classes and events?
